ROCHESTER, NY -- Monroe to get $540M in stimulus funds

The state has launched a database showing the precise distribution of stimulus funds to communities statewise, Gov. David A. Paterson’s office announced Monday.

“This is part of our continuing effort to provide the public with transparent information that holds government accountable for the spending of their tax dollars through the stimulus program,” Paterson said in a statement.

Of the $18 billion in ARRA funding targeted for the state, Monroe County is expected to receive $540.9 million.

Combined, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Wayne and Wyoming counties are expected to receive at least $779 million.

More than $5 billion is assisting New Yorkers directly: $3.9 billion in increased unemployment insurance payments, $1.3 billion in increased food stamps, and $69 million in Pell Grants.
